Birmingham City Council’s 3 buzz peaks – Jobs, sackings & equal pay

Yesterday’s equal pay crisis at Birmingham City Council once again thrusts them into the media (new and old) spotlight.

The chart below demonstrates the dramatic impact these events have on the amount of buzz / chatter / news around a council – and the potential impact this has on comms teams, senior management and members – very disruptive I imagine.

The first peak is around announcement of job cuts in Feb, the second is around the March sacking of the six social workers in the Khyra Ishaq case, the third is around the £600m hole arsing from the equal pay issues at the council.
