Quantifying the volumes and immediacy of social media around specific events

Just been playing around with some of the functions in www.CouncilMonitor.com to see what has been the impact of some events in local government land. I have followed Birmingham City Council Job Cuts announcement to see what the media reaction was, what topics were picked up on, what the timings of reaction of different media are etc etc.

I’ve put together a few slides which illustrate this exercise.
